Trowbridge workshop highlights dangers of drink-driving
Motorists got a vivid reminder of the dangers of drink-driving from Wiltshire Police in Trowbridge last week.
Around 100 people visited a workshop held at the Spitfire Retail Park, in Bradley Road, running a drink-drive simulator.
The wreckage of a car involved in a crash was also on display.
Sergeant Jim Suter, based in Trowbridge, said: “Through these events we want to clamp down on drink-driving, anti-social driving and look at improving driving.
“This is very much a carrot and stick approach, offering guidance to motorists.
“But, if this education is ignored, drivers risk losing their licences and potentially having their vehicles seized.”
At the start of the month, Wiltshire Police held a day of action, called Operation Harness, which saw 100 fixed penalty notices issued and five vehicles seized.
