Box Rocks for the 20th time for RUH appeal
4:31pm Friday 23rd August 2013 in Latest News
The village of Box will be rocking again on Bank Holiday Monday as it hosts its 20th charity music festival, Box Rocks.
The eight-hour-long party will take place at the Queens Head pub and will see eight bands attempting to raise the roof, all in aid of the Bath RUH Forever Friends appeal.
Blues Reviewed will start proceedings at 2pm, with sets by Exit Plan, The Duckworths and Funkinsteins, before the night is rounded off for a grand finale by the Rocking Horrors.
This will be the 11th year the festival has supported the appeal, which is campaigning to raise funds for a new cancer care centre at the hospital.
Community fundraiser Zoe Tainton said: “It is absolutely fantastic that Box Rocks have been so kind to support us for 11 years running.
“They have raised over £20,000 for The Forever Friends Appeal and we are utterly grateful for their help. Their commitment and hard work to raise funds for their local hospital is incredible. The pub, its customers and the Box Rocks team are kind charitable supporters.”
