New lease of life promise for Trowbridge manor hotel
3:00pm Thursday 5th September 2013 in Latest News
The Old Manor Hotel in Trowbridge has been taken over by a hospitality veteran who plans to steer the Grade II listed building into the wedding market.
Tudor Hopkins has been operating in the hotels sector for many years. He trained at the Connaught and Grosvenor hotels in London, then ran Place at the Beach in Camber in East Sussex, the Gallivant in Camber and the Leonard Hotel in Marble Arch.
He said: “We have grand plans. This is a wonderful 500-year-old manor house with amazing potential. We will focus on weddings and the whole interior of the hotel will be refurbished.”
His wife Lucy will design and supervise the new look and help steer the hotel toward the wedding and conference market.
Tim Burnham handed over the keys to the hotel last month and said: “I have been here for 11 years. I am 64 and have worked very hard. Tudor is an expert hotelier and in these times that’s what you need.”
