Trowbridge clothing firm founder retires after 26 years
12:00pm Saturday 5th October 2013 in Latest News
The founder of Trowbridge firm Blue Max Banner has retired after 26 years of running the £26m clothing business.
Mary Fawcus, 72, set up the family company, which sells schoolwear, sportswear and work clothing, in 1987.
The business was named after Blue Max, the horse her daughter, Fenella Mountgarret, competed with during her younger years. Mrs Fawcus plans to pursue her own equestrian passions during her retirement, after buying two racehorses with her husband, David.
Mrs Fawcus will continue as a non-executive director, but Mr Fawcus will continue as chief executive.
Their daughter and her husband, Piers, hold positions with the firm.
