Warminster soccer match parkers fined
10:00am Sunday 6th October 2013 in Latest News
Police have cracked down on motorists parking inconsiderately along Woodcock Road in Warminster, after receiving several complaints from residents.
People in the area had repeatedly complained about poor parking when football matches were taking place at Highbury Youth Football Club’s ground.
After assessing the problem, PCSOs Lorraine Rice and Jason Greenland called in PC Ben Agate to issue £50 fixed penalty tickets to several motorists found causing obstructions.
PCSO Rice said: “Every time a match is played, we encounter people parking irresponsibly and people need to be aware that they will be ticketed for this offence.”
Simon Guerri-Fear, chairman of Highbury Youth Football Club, said: “We would urge anybody attending Highbury to show consideration to our neighbours and all local residents.”
