Small businesses seeking support are being offered the opportunity to rent office space at the new White Horse Enterprise Centre based in Trowbridge as well as expert advice.

The facility, based at the White Horse Business Park, offers meeting spaces, computer equipment, and hot desking.

On November 20, an open day event took place at the newly opened centre allowing aspiring entrepreneurs to network and learn more about the facility and a similar centre in Ludgershall.

The enterprise centres are part of The Enterprise Network (TEN), a £5.2million initiative led by Wiltshire Council, which aims to nurture new and growing micro businesses in Wiltshire and rural Swindon.

Kate Forrest, The Enterprise Network manager, said: “We invited anyone who may be thinking about launching a new business, or growing an existing enterprise, to pop along to see what’s on offer at the White Horse Enterprise Centre.”

Through Government and European Union funding TEN is creating centres across Wiltshire which are designed to provide growing companies with a base and free business advice.

Wessex Chambers of Commerce is one of the organisations involved in with TEN and their president Rob Perks thinks the centres can aid the region’s economy.

He said: “The idea is that across the region there will be sensibly priced accommodation offering a good professional environment for businesses to thrive.

“It is very flexible, space can be rented by the month, the hour or whatever suits the specific person’s needs.”

Two more enterprise centres are due to open in Royal Wootton Bassett and Salisbury in the new year.
