Melksham wife-killer Richard Newton will have to wait until the new year to discover his fate, after his manslaughter sentencing was postponed.
Newton, 52, admitted the manslaughter of his wife Suzanne, 45, last month, and was due to be sentenced on Friday at Bristol Crown Court.
The body of Mrs Newton was found at the couple's home on Barnes Wallis Drive, Bowerhill in January, and her husband was arrested in Devon a day later.
He was originally charged with murder, but a guilty plea of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility was accepted last month.
It is not yet known when the hearing will be rescheduled.
