Two men from Chippenham have been arrested after a 21-year-old man was knocked unconscious and robbed in Melksham last month.

The victim was visiting the town from Nottingham, and had just returned from a night out in Chippenham, when he was attacked on Beanacre Road close to the Longhope Guest House at around 4am on Saturday November 22.

He was knocked unconscious in the attack, and suffered cuts and bruising to his face.

His black canvas FCUK wallet and Black Samsung Galaxy S4 were taken during the attack. It is believed the wallet was discarded in the hedgerow close to the Lackham College roundabout and the phone may have been recently sold in the Chippenham area.

A 22 and a 25-year-old were arrested on suspicion of robbery on Saturday in connection with this incident. Both have since been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information about the attack or anyone who may have been offered or purchased a Samsung Galaxy 4 in the Chippenham area recently.

People with information are asked to contact DC Justine Wilkinson on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
