Freddie William Graham waited just long enough to come into the world in 2014, being born early on New Year’s Day.

Parents Lynda and Jon Graham were expecting their second son to arrive on New Year’s Eve, but he was born at 6.55am on Wednesday, seven hours past his due date. He was born at the Royal United Hospital, Bath weighing 7lbs 10oz.

Despite the quick delivery it was a difficult pregnancy for mum Mrs Graham, 30, who experienced contractions for over a month.

She said: “Our other son Oliver, who is two and a half, was born on his due date, and it was different to last time, a lot harder.

“I had contractions for about five weeks, so the last few weeks have been quite difficult, but at least it was a speedy delivery, at 54 minutes.

“At the beginning of this week I was very tired, and didn’t feel too well, so Christmas was difficult. You keep thinking he is coming, then the contractions just stop.”

The couple, who live in Hawthorn Road, Melksham, have been together for five and a half years. Mr Graham works for Devizes-based agricultural machinery supplier TW White.

Oliver has been staying with his gran.

Mrs Graham said: “We picked the name a long time ago in the early stages of the pregnancy, when we knew we were having a boy.

“The staff at Bath were excellent, really nice. It was the first time I’d delivered there, but they did everything we could have hoped for.”
