Trowbridge Town Team has apologised for a reduction in stalls at the town’s weekly market on December 18.
The market, which launched in March and runs each Wednesday in Fore Street, was called off because of heavy winds which were forecasted. In spite of this, some stallholders still came to the town and battled the elements.
David Baker, Trowbridge Town Team chairman, said: “Under our insurance we are unable to provide the umbrellas when gale force winds are likely.
“The safety of our stallholders and that of our customers is paramount to us.”
The market will return in the new year, running between 9am and 4pm each Wednesday.
