A former Matravers School pupil wants members of the Class of 76 or 77 to get in touch for a reunion in Westbury.

Mary Trimarco, of Oldfield Road in the town, decided to arrange the reunion after a friend had a small get together for the Class of 1976.

The 52-year-old now hopes to bring together the two school years in an event at the Railway Inn on Saturday night.

Glan Morris, a vehicle maintenance teacher at the school, is also expected to attend.

When they were last at school together, the Queen was celebrating her Silver Jubilee, Saturday Night Fever was spreading and Star Wars hit cinema screens for the first time.

Ms Trimarco, a self-employed nail technician, said: “We have got about 20 people so far, but there are probably around 120 names altogether, so hopefully we can get in contact with more.

“It’s a nice way to celebrate who we are and where we have come from. It will also be good to catch up and see what everyone is now doing with their lives.

“We would also love for more teachers who taught during those years to get in touch and come along as well.

“It brought back a lot of memories just compiling the list of names, so it would be lovely to see as many people as possible.”

The reunion night starts at 8pm and entry is £5, to cover the cost of the room. Any surplus funds will go behind the bar.
