A Corsham-based anti-piracy firm has been rated fully shipshape, after receiving a prestigious national qualification.
Black Pearl Maritime Security, founded in 2011 by former Royal Marine Chris Stewart and based at Pickwick Park, provides maritime intelligence, counter-piracy and ransom delivery measures.
It was recently awarded the new Maritime Security Standard after an extensive two-day audit from independent assessor Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.
Mr Stewart said: “This sets us apart from most private maritime security companies and, as a small family-run business, means we can stand with our head held high in a competitive marketplace dominated historically by larger providers.”
