Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service is battling to keep flood water at bay in Bradford on Avon tonight.
The force tweeted at 9.45pm that the water being pumped away was seeping under the temporary barriers where the surface of the Bull Pit is uneven.
It was expected that some water would get through the Environmental Agency barrier and a fire engine would be used to pump it away but the force tweeted: "Just keeping it under control!"
Meanwhile @woodygems tweeted that the centre of town was clear of traffic and Beverley Jones tweeted: "BoA always flooded when I was at school. Surely something could be done to stop it?"
