The Annual Wiltshire West District Scout Cooking Competition was held at Southwick on Sunday January 26.
As usual it was organised by the District Active Support Unit and this year the teams came from 1st Trowbrige, Warminster, Southwick and North Bradley. They had to prepare a three-course gluten free or dairy free meal with a maximum cost of £17.
The organisers were pleased to welcome Jenny and Ken Parsons and Kim and Chris Toms who had travelled from Crewkerne to judge the competition, which proved to be very difficult because of the high standard.
The winners once again were from Warminster – their team this year were Bryan Airey, George Hiscock, Josh Hoodless and Callum Morgan.
The district shield and certificates were presented by the judges and District Commissioner Sue Duncan, who also thanked the local members who had all helped to make the day successful.
One of the members, John Case, received a certificate for 26 years’ service.
The winners now go on to the county round at Potterne on February 23.
