Queen’s era is recreated in costumes at Trowbridge
6:00am Friday 14th February 2014 in Latest News
Pupils at Newtown Primary School travelled back in time on Friday dressing in Victorian clothing as they learned how different Trowbridge was in that era.
Some dressed as chimney sweeps and others as middle class business owners as part of the school’s term project.
During Friday’s event, experts from Wiltshire And Swindon Learning Resources came to the school while pupils tried their hand at writing on slats and learning Victorian handwriting.
Zara Coat, Year four teacher, said: “It was an absolutely brilliant event and we were happy to see lots of interesting Victorian costumes. The whole school has been learning.”
During the studies, classes went to Trowbridge Museum at Shires Shopping Centre.
