Bromham Post Office has moved to Bromham Stores - the premises it was at more than 80 years ago.

The post office has moved from the home of David Price in New Road, who retired as sub-postmaster after 16 years, to the shop in The Chantry.

The changeover happened last Thursday and staff at the shop have been trained to do Post Office transactions.

Post Office services are now available for longer hours.

Thea Dunn, wife of Bromham Stores owner Adrian Dunn, said: “People seem positive about using it and have been saying it is convenient. They need to realise that the shop is sponsoring the Post Office.”

She said Mr Dunn is set to take on two extra staff as a result of the Post Office moving into the shop. There will be an official opening on February 18.

Sales assistant Juliet Nash, who has worked at Bromham Stores for ten years, said: “We have been busier and different people who don’t usually come in have been using it.

"Customers have been patient and some have said it’s nice to have one place to go to and it’s better than the Post Office closing altogether.”
