LORRY Watch in Bradford on Avon needs extra volunteers for March as they step up their efforts to catch lorries exceeding the town’s 18 tonne weight limit.

The scheme has a team of over 40 volunteers who have monitored vehicles coming through the town since they set up in October 2011 but more are needed.

Like last year, March sees an intense month of everyday shifts from 8am-4pm to see if lorry numbers are increasing or reducing.

Volunteers can offer one hour or more to help reduce the number of lorries in the town. Good eyesight and recording skills are needed and one hour of training will be given beforehand.
