PC Amy Hardman has joined Trowbridge’s police team covering the Adcroft, Paxcroft and Seymour beats.
PC Hardman, 33, was previously based at Melksham Police Station as part of the Switch team which targets persistent reoffenders, attempting to stop them committing more crimes.
She aims to bring the skills she developed with Switch to prevent crimes in Trowbridge.
PC Hardman, who joined the police in 2000, said: “I’m already really enjoying being part of this team and I’m looking forward to getting to know those who live on my beat.”
PC Hardman has replaced PC Jamie Darvill who has joined Trowbridge’s central beat.
Inspector Lisette Harvey, who is based at Trowbridge Police Station, said: “Amy is a welcome addition to the team and comes with a wealth of experience. Jamie moving to the town centre beat means that we now have two officers and two PCSOs in the town centre which will help the prevention of crime.”
Trowbridge’s violent town centre crime is down 13.2 per cent this year from 220 to 191 offences.
