NEW homes and jobs are coming to the Rudloe area of Corsham after a five-hectare development was approved by Wiltshire Council.

Developer Hannick Homes was granted permission for the new estate off Bradford Road last Wednesday.

It includes 88 homes, with some affordable housing, and a small central children’s play area, and will be built 100 metres south of Corsham Primary School’s Broadwood site.

The application also includes a portion of industrial development, which will act as an extension to the Fiveways Trading Estate and provide additional premises for pharmaceutical manufacturer Bath ASU.

The firm produces chemotherapy drugs, and has been supported by the Swindon and Wiltshire LEP Growing Places Initiative Fund.

It employs 75 people at its Corsham Rudloe site, with an extra 60 jobs expected to be created by this expansion.
