A group of unemployed young people funded and built a sensory garden at Larkrise School in Trowbridge which is for west Wiltshire children with severe learning difficulties.
The team worked with The Learning Curve charity as part of a 12-week Prince’s Trust programme – raising £300 for materials and negotiating discounts and donations from organisations including Shaw Trust Palmer Gardens, Mole Valley Farmers, Countrywide and Leekes.
Philip Cook, the school’s headteacher said: “I’m particularly happy that they’ve considered potential access problems.”
Learning Curve is also trying to find local businesses which can to offer work experience placements.
