Mothers of pupils at Westbury Junior School were given a free lunch last Friday, as a thank you from the school ahead of Mother’s Day on Sunday.
Almost 100 mums came for lunch as pupils shared the day with their parents. The school also held bingo and gave each mum a small gift.
Headteacher Richard Hatt said: “We have done bits and pieces in the past, but we were more organised this year and thought we would go one better and have a special lunch.
“We had 98 mums in total and we decided it would be free as a gift, because our mums are very supportive to the school.
“We are now looking at doing something similar for Father’s Day as I think they were a bit jealous.”
Pupils also visited All Saints’ Church in Westbury on Monday for an Easter service, including a performance of Passion of the Christ by children in Year 3 and 4.
