Trowbridge-based company The Consortium is celebrating winning a prestigious Education Resources Award in the Education Exporter of the Year Award category.

The Consortium provides a one-stop shop of education supplies including curriculum resources, exercise books, consumables, furniture, stationery, cleaning and janitorial supplies to education providers across the UK.

The Education Resources Awards identify and reward effective resources and services for education.

The winners were announced at a dinner in the National Motorcycle Museum on March 21 before a crowd of more than 300 educators and industry leaders.

Matt Palmer, sales director at The Consortium, said: “We’re delighted... it’s a great testimony to our international sales capability and customer service that has driven superb sales growth in the last 12 months.

“It’s fantastic to be recognised –it is a direct result of having such a great team of staff at The Consortium.”

The judges said the firm had been proactive at looking at new markets, while expanding its reach into existing ones.

Caroline Wright, director of BESA, the education sector’s trade association and organisers of the Education Resources Awards, said: “With the launch of the new National Curriculum later this year, it was great to see such a fantastic number of entries offering innovative teaching and learning resources designed to help schools inspire and excite pupils.

“As schools are given increasing freedom to invest in products to suit the specific needs of their students, it is important to highlight the high quality of resources such as those supplied by The Consortium.”
