Police are appealing for information following an attack on a 36-year-old man in Melksham.
The incident took place about 9.40pm on Friday in Granville Road, near the A350/Beanacre Road in Melksham.
The man received an injury to his leg requiring hospital treatment.
His attacker is described as a white man, around 5’6” to 5’7” tall, of skinny build who was wearing a blue hooded top.
Officers are particularly interested to hear from anyone who may have seen a person running in, or near, Beanacre Road around this time.
A 20-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
