Vulnerable people will be given a helping hand when a new community safety project funded through the Police and Crime Commissioner starts in Westbury.

The Safe Places project, already working well in other parts of Wiltshire, will provide a network of places where people can get help if they are lost or confused and could involve shops, community centres and other venues.

Participating places will display a distinctive notice to show they offer a safe place. The project is led by the BA13+ community area partnership, supported by Westbury Area Board and police.

A working group is being set up and anyone who would like to be part of the project should get in touch with Phil McMullen at ba13.partnership@live.co.uk
