Judges selecting the “royalty” for Trowbridge Carnival faced a tough decision when presented with this year’s entrants at Oasis Academy Longmeadow.

Girls, aged from seven and 11, were invited to compete to be Butterfly Queen and Butterfly Princess.

The selection was on April 26 at the school in Broadcloth and 10-year-old Imogen Bailey and nine-year-old Ruby Butler were chosen.

They will now attend events building up to the annual town centre procession on October 18.

Maryrose Mantle, the Trowbridge Carnival Committee chairman, said: “It was a really pleasant afternoon and the entrants were lovely.”
