Fundraising for this year’s Rock Diabetes festival in Trowbridge is already under way.
The festival, on October 11 at the Civic Centre, is to raise awareness of type 1 diabetes and money towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Last Sunday organisers and volunteers took part in a three-legged pub crawl around all the pubs in Westbury with collection buckets, raising more than £350 for the charity.
The first of many warm-up gigs will be at Charlie’s Bar in Market Place, Westbury, on Sunday, when there will be live music, including Devizes band Burnthru.
There will also be a music quiz, where people can win two tickets to the festival.
Future fundraisers include bungee jumping from a helicopter, an awards night, a day of live music in Trowbridge Park and many more warm-up gigs around the area.
A line-up of local talent playing at the festival will be released soon. For more information on the festival and all the activities surrounding the event email rockdiabetes@hotmail.co.uk or visit www.rockdiabetes.co.uk
