PUPILS at St Augustine’s Catholic College celebrated in style at the Year 11 dinner at Cumberwell Park on Friday, with two even arriving in a vintage Triumph motor car.

The end-of-year dinner saw pupils from the Trowbridge school dress up in their best gowns and suits for one big final get together, before heading off to sixth form or college.

Many wanted to make their mark with a memorable arrival, with Rebecca Bracey and David Figueira arriving at the Bradford on Avon venue in a vintage Triumph, while others arranged for eye catching vehicles of their own to arrive in.

The event included a three-course meal and speeches from pupils about their time at the school, before finishing the evening off with a dance.

Head of Year 11 Sue Tanner said: “It was a lovely evening and everyone looked stunning. They made their own arrangements to get there and many arrived with friends.

“They still have to go back to school after the half term holiday for their exams and many will stay on at the school’s sixth form, but for some of the pupils it will be their last time together as a year group.

“Cumberwell Park is always a great place to hold events such as this and they catered the three-course meal really well. After the meal, the pupils gave some excellent speeches reflecting on their five years at the school.”
