Angus Macpherson, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, is out of the Intensive Therapy Unit at the Royal United Hospital in Bath and continuing his recovery on a ward.
Mr Macpherson was taken ill on Friday, May 30, whilst visiting Dr Andrew Murrison, the MP for South West Wiltshire, in Trowbridge.
Kieran Kilgallen, chief executive of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, who met members of Mr Macpherson’s family yesterday afternoon, said: “Angus is out of ITU. He is sitting up in his bed on the ward, talking to his family and continuing to improve steadily.
“He has asked that we pass on his thanks for the very many messages he has received wishing him a speedy recovery.”
