Singer Steve Knightley says this year’s Village Pump Folk Festival was a resounding success - and can still get bigger and better.
Knightley, a member of the band Show of Hands, is a patron of the event and performed three times at the festival, including on the main stage on Friday evening.
He said: “The festival has been great. There was a wonderful atmosphere all round the site and there was always something going on to suit everyone’s tastes.
“I always get such a great thrill performing at the Village Pump Folk Festival as the crowd is so engaging and really enjoy their music.
“I love being at this festival and being able to watch artists myself. I thought The Peatbog Faeries put on a great show on Friday evening and Aimée were very good on Saturday.”
The festival lwas aunched in 1974 and moved from its old home at Stowford Manor Farm to the White Horse Country Park in 2012.
Steve said: “I think the festival has enjoyed a new lease of life since moving to the new site and it attracts around 2,000 people, which isn't bad at all.
"There’s still room to welcome more. It just needs word of mouth to spread on the circuit.
“That’ll happen with the festival maintaining high quality year after year.”
