A man who was caught smuggling mobile phone sim cards into HM Prison Erlestoke has been released on bail.
Stephen Murphy was caught with the contraband when he went to visit an inmate at the prison on Friday, February 28.
Murphy, 30, of Barry, south Wales, had been due to face a trial by judge and jury at Swindon Crown Court accused of having the items inside a prison.
But before a jury could be sworn in on the first days of a trial last week he changed his plea to admit the charge.
Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to late November for a pre-sentence report and released him on bail until then.
