YOUNG carers from across Wiltshire got their aprons on and hands messy last month as they made and designed their own pizzas at Morrisons in Westbury.

The seven youngsters, aged 8-14, are official carers for relatives and are supported by children’s charity Spurgeons, which has been offering support to children and their families for almost 150 years.

And all of them became chefs for the day after being invited to take part in the activity at the Morrisons store, located on Edward Street.

Rachel Stewart, of Spurgeons Young Carers service in Wiltshire, said: “It was a great opportunity for young carers to get a bit of time out and tell us what they need and what they think about our service to enable us to enhance our support to them.

“Thank you to Morrisons and their community champion Lisa Litterick for organising the event.”
