NEWTOWN Primary School can celebrate good times after picking up a trio of three top awards at the Trowbridge in Bloom ceremony on Tuesday.

The Trowbridge school’s teachers and children picked up the coveted Whittern Trophy for the Art in Your Garden award, the Nature and Wildlife prize and the Pride in our School crown presented by the mayor.

“We were very pleased and pleasantly surprised with the amount of awards we won. I didn’t realise we had won three,” said teacher Sue Hornby.

“The kids were in great form and they were thrilled to receive their rewards. Not only have they worked hard but so has the entire school.

“It was pretty much a full turnout from our very enthusiastic school kids, who were very happy to have their parents there too.”

Myra Brewer, at the first time of entering, won the John Beresford Cup for Outstanding Achievement and was delighted with her accolade.

“It was an absolutely amazing evening and I was thrilled with my award,” said Mrs Brewer. “Seeing the excited children run on to the stage was a real treat and made the whole night.”
