RESIDENTS in Westbury Leigh have described the extraordinary moment a tractor towing a trailer overturned outside their homes, which miraculously didn’t injure anyone.
Sarah Hurkett was in her house on Leigh Park Way near Tesco Express at the time of the crash on Friday at 3pm.
She said: “I heard a bang outside so I flew out the door and saw a trailer on its side. The whole house vibrated.
“Someone was walking up the path out of the way and they were just missed so they were lucky.
“A few times tractors have had trouble coming off the roundabout and before there was a water tank that came off a few years ago. I don’t think drivers realise the severity of the bend.”
Lisa Bristow, who was also at home at the time of the crash, said: “There was stuff everywhere. I think it was wood chippings in the back of the trailer and a tree had been knocked over and the lamppost was damaged.”
The incident was cleared by 5pm and police confirmed no further action would be taken.
