CHILDREN at Dilton Marsh Primary School made some noise last week as they joined thousands of other pupils across the country in stamping their feet for an anti-bullying campaign.

Almost 50,000 pupils from schools across the UK stamped their feet for 20 seconds last Friday (November 20) at 11am for the Stamp Out Bullying campaign.

The initiative was the first time the 204 pupils from the school on High Street have taken part in the stamp and they enjoyed a week of activities on the subject.

Teacher Sharon Broad said: “We have had a whole week of activities because it is national anti-bullying week.

“We’ve been teaching them about STOP, Several Times On Purpose, and to start telling other people if they are being bullied, that’s the message.

“It’s been very positive, Year 6 classes have had lots of discussions about what bullying means to them.

“They’ve then led workshops with other children in younger classes and each child has created their own footstep which will be made into a display and put up in the school.”
