A TEAM of staff members from Warminster School took part in the Bath Moonlight Walk to raise money for Dorothy House Hospice on Saturday, September 10.

The night-time walk is popular eight-kilometre sponsored stroll through the streets of Bath after dusk for women aged 14 and over.

After hearing about the event, staff from the school decided to join together and take on the walk as a group to raise as much money as possible.

School Nurse, Trish Cambridge-King, said: "I was delighted that seven members of staff took part in the walk and so far we have raised around £800 for Dorothy House.

“I wanted to do this in memory of my father who died five years ago. Dorothy House Hospice At Home enabled him to spend his last three days at home and to pass away peacefully with his family around him."

Dorothy House provides care and support for people with a life-limiting illness and give care to patients and their families in Bath as well as in parts of Wiltshire and Somerset.

Caroline Robinson, the school's Director of Music, who also took part, said: "I was keen to support Dorothy House because of the outstanding compassionate support they provide for people with terminal illness and their families.

“I also enjoyed the atmosphere and it certainly was a fun way of catching up with colleagues whilst raising money for a great cause."

The team completed the walk in under two hours and did so wearing pyjamas, onesies and pink feather boas to complete the look.
