BATH Cats & Dogs Home is looking for enthusiastic Trowbridge residents to join its new volunteer fundraising group.

The rescue centre, which takes in many unwanted animals from the Trowbridge area, covers a total area of 650 square miles.

The charity is hoping to raise its profile in Trowbridge so more people know about its work locally, and to put on events in the area that local families can get involved with, raising funds to help keep the centre open this year.

Zena Jones, fundraiser at Bath Cats and Dogs Home, said: “We already have some fantastic support from local businesses and supermarkets in Trowbridge, and now we’d like to hear from any local individuals that want to volunteer their time to helping unwanted pets.

“The volunteer fundraising group will share ideas and together plan fun local fundraisers and events in and around Trowbridge. It will be a great way to meet new people, gain new skills and volunteering is also a great addition to the CV.

“The money raised from the group’s activities will pay for food, safe warm beds and expert care for animals at the Home, including dogs like Joey, who was found straying with no chip or collar.

“No one came forward for Joey and so he is being cared for at Bath Cats and Dogs Home until we are able to find him a new loving home.”
