IT is looking more and more likely that one of the biggest rock bands on the planet are set to play just miles away from Wiltshire this evening.

Speculation that the Foo Fighters will play the Cheese and Grain in Frome this evening grew rapidly yesterday and all the signs are now pointing to a remarkable 'secret' gig.

On Wednesday, the US band launched their Obelisk Airlines website, counting down to “in-flight entertainment to begin at 7.45pm on Friday evening”.

A select group of the legendary band’s fans were sent ‘boarding passes’ with ‘Los Angeles to CAG’ written on the front.

Many people think ‘CAG’ is an acronym for Cheese and Grain, a concert venue and arts space in Frome, Somerset.

Yesterday evening at 6pm the venue’s Facebook page posted a statement which reads: “We have a strictly private event at the Cheese & Grain this Friday 24th February.

“There will be no tickets available at all to anyone who has not already been invited. Please do not come to the venue as we are unable to assist with any admission requests and we will be closed to the public all day.”

The Foo Fighters have also begun following two Frome record shops on Twitter – Covers Vinyl and Raves From the Grave, adding to the rumours.

It is expected the band, led by Dave Grohl, will use the exclusive gig to announce it is set to headline Glastonbury, alongside Radiohead, in June.
