TROWBRIDGE Library was transformed into an enlisting station for WW1 recruits last week.

Visitors learned what happened when men volunteered for King and Country had the opportunity to have their photograph taken in uniform.

The one-day event was organised by Wiltshire at War and Trowbridge Museum on Wednesday afternoon.

David Birks, manager of the museum, said: “It’s so important to remind people what happened in the war, especially as the 100th anniversary is coming up next year.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy the event as they learned how to bandage a soldier and have their photo taken.”
