LIDL has hosted a drop-in session to show off its plans for a new Westbury store.
The German retailer bought the old Co-operative site in Bitham Park in November 2016 and hopes to open next September if it gets planning permission.
On Thursday (June 15), people were invited to talk about the plans for the new building and complete a survey asking for their views on the proposals.
Display boards showcased Lidl's plans to extend the building's footprint to accommodate a bakery, a bakery freezer, a customer toilet and six tills. The plans also show eight disabled parking spaces.
Project manager Jay Jones said: “The new building will be slightly larger and more aesthetically pleasing.
“The current building is just under 100 square metres and the new building will be just over that.
“It will be longer than the current one and will make use of the space next to the current building that is only used by delivery vans.
“We will recycle as much of the material we have from the old building to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
“I hope we get planning permission as I’m excited to build it.”
Dorothy Fox, from Westbury, said: “There are limited sales at Tesco, where we have to shop at the moment, and I’m waiting to see the proposals sale through planning.
“I’ll definitely shop here when it opens.”
