POLICE have arrested a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man after a man waiting for a bus in Trowbridge was assaulted.
The 20-year-old victim, who received treatment at the Royal United Hospital for wounds to his face, was jumped by a group of cyclists near the bus stop opposite Kwik Fit in Bythesea Road just after 9pm on Friday (September 8).
Descriptions of the offenders were passed on to police and the two men from Trowbridge were arrested on suspicion of GBH. They were taken to Melksham custody and have since been released under investigation.
Keith Harford said: βIt appears that this attack was unprovoked and the man did not know the attackers. If you witnessed the assault and have not yet spoken to police, please call 101. We have arrested two males and our enquiries are continuing.β
