A GROUP of Scouts in Melksham are once again set to deliver Christmas cheer this year.

They are setting up special post boxes around the town to collect and deliver residents’ festive greeting cards to friends and relatives.

The move by Melksham Scout Group follows on from the success of last year’s Christmas post service with over 2,000 cards delivered.

All you have to do is write the address, clearly, on the envelope and drop it into one of the special postboxes to be found in shops throughout the town.

The Scouts will help residents to deliver their festive cards to any SN12 postcode address within the Melksham, Bowerhill or Berryfield areas.

There is no need to attach a stamp but you are asked to donate 20p per card – that’s less than half the price of a second class stamp.

The last posting date is Thursday, December 14 and post boxes are located at the following: Tops, Scissors, The Art House Café, Melksham Tourist Information Centre, Card & News, The Cobbler’s Bench.

This year, the Scouts also have sited boxes in the Texaco Garage on Spa Road, Robinsons’ Fish & Chip Shop in Bowerhill and the Barnardo’s Shop in Verbena Court, Cranesbill Road.
