TROWBRIDGE school pupils, care home residents and the Royal British Legion came together for a special Remembrance service on Wednesday.
Nearly 50 people from The Mead Primary, Paxcroft School and Oasis Academy Longmeadow headed to Trowbridge Oaks Care Home, West Ashton Road, to honour those who gave their lives for their country.
In the home’s garden, knitted poppies were placed by a tree and George Lambert, who served under Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, gave a salute before a minute’s silence was held.
Home manager Tracey Williams said: “It was just a wonderful coming together of the Trowbridge community.
“The school children wore their poppies and it was just a lovely ceremony. It was lovely to have the Royal British Legion and Rob Thomas from St James’ Church, for a very special occasion.
“We did it last year and we are very happy we did it again.”
