OVERFLOWING boxes of food and wrapped Christmas presents were put together by pupils at West Ashton Primary School to help Trowbridge people less fortunate than themselves.
The school's emotional literary support assistant, Jodi Gilroy, organised the collection of gifts, which will go to the Christmas lunch held at County Hall on Christmas Day to help those who otherwise may be on their own.
Pupils' parents donated gifts, which were then wrapped up by the school children on Friday.
Their generosity didn't stop there as more than two big boxes of food was donated by pupils and that will head off to Storehouse Foodbank in Trowbridge before Christmas
Head girl Eleanor Squires, 10, said: Some people at Christmas don’t get anything, we are giving gifts so they can open them at Christmas."
Summer Mounty, aged 9, said: "I think it’s good that lots of children that don’t get anything are going to get loads this Christmas."
On the non-school uniform day last week, the children also watched the Snowman and enjoyed some hot chocolate and cake as well.
Ms Gilroy said: "Anything supplied is a huge help towards making someone’s Christmas this year. Thank you and Merry Christmas.”
Headteacher Debbie Huxham added: "It was a really successful day as everyone was so generous with their donations. This is for two really good causes. The boxes are overflowing with food."
