CORONATION Street star Leon Ockenden is hoping other big names will come to perform at Trowbridge Town Hall as he cannot speak highly enough of the venue ahead of his appearance there next week.

The actor, who played Will Chatterton in the soap, will star in the thriller Stone Cold Murder from Tuesday-Saturday, performed in the venue’s magnificent foyer.

Although he and fellow cast members Joseph Chance, Michael Dixon and Imogen Irving have just a week to prepare for the Town Hall Arts and Dorset Corset Theatre Company show, he is full of excitement at the challenge. “I am thrilled to be part of this incredible project, it has been absolutely manic so far but that adds to the fun,” he said.

“To be so close to an audience of 60 each night, clambering over them, having objects passed by them, in such an intimate setting has made us feel like we are back at drama school again. A play set in just a hotel foyer - perfect.

“I told my friend Harry Lloyd, who was on Game of Thrones, that I was doing this and he said he would love to come and do the same. I am very happy to help Town Hall Arts.

“I love the idea of having 50 free tickets for 16 to 19-year-olds, but actually this can be enjoyed by eight-year-olds to 80-year-olds. It should be a treat.”

Stone Cold Murder and the free teen ticket scheme was made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

Tracy Sullivan, director of Town Hall Arts, said: “Having someone like Leon does wonders in terms of exposure for the venue and the work we do here.”

To apply for free teen tickets email info@townhallarts.co.uk or call 01225 774306 for £15 tickets foor the 7.30pm shows.
