KNIFE-BRANDISHING thieves are being hunted by police after they stole some money from a Tesco store in Trowbridge on Thursday night.
Police received a call at 10.34pm, reporting a robbery at Tesco Express, in Brook Road.
The perpetrators, who were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, approached a member of staff, pointed the weapon at them and demanded money.
A quantity of money was handed over and the thieves left on foot.
The men were described as white, tall and of average build. They spoke with local accents and were wearing dark coloured hooded tops or jackets, jogging bottoms, dark gloves and dark trainers. Officers attended the area and carried out searches followed by continued patrols.
Detective Sergeant Melissa Carr said: "This was a frightening incident for the members of staff involved, but luckily nobody was injured.
"We are continuing to investigate the incident today and would ask that any members of the public who were in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
