WILTSHIRE Council Singers raised over £1,300 in 2017 for charities operating in the county. The choir, consisting of more than 30 members of staff from across the council, performed at four events during 2017 and raised £1,365 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and cancer charity Hope For Tomorrow.
The choir is led by Denise Drew who said “We are a work based choir with singers drawn from services across the council. We sing a wide range of music, including pop, jazz, songs from stage and film and spiritual. Our aim is to have fun and raise money for charity and we are always looking for opportunities to perform at events, celebrations and charity functions.”
Kevin Reed, head of operations at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, who attended one of the concerts, said “It was a really enjoyable evening with excellent singing and it was enlightening for the heart and spirit. The acoustics in the Atrium at County Hall did justice to the lovely voices of the choir. There was an eclectic range of music and the audience were able to join in by singing along.”
Wiltshire Council Singers will be performing again on September 28 to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
