PUPILS at Bratton Primary School welcomed a very special visitor to their school on Tuesday morning.
As part of their literary week, children’s author and illustrator Hannah Shaw from Stroud came in to talk to the children about how to make and develop a fictional character.
She said: “I think speaking to a professional writer shows the children they can build a career in the creative industry.”
Over the week, the children at the school have also been reciting and studying poetry and creative writing.
Headteacher at Bratton Primary School, Ian Bolton, said: “We do a lot of English at our school as part of our curriculum, however, it’s good to do this enrichment week as something extra for the children that they can enjoy.
“This certainly helps to improve their reading a writing in class.
“We also like to teach our pupils how to communicate effectively and speak correctly as this is such a vital skill.”
