STAFF at Wiltshire Council braved howling winds and pouring rain for a charity sleepout, which raised more than £3,000 for Julian House.
The public protection team of Ben Sargeant, Jemma Price, Julie Macey, Suzy Vowles, Claire Francis, Katherine Fowler and Domonic Shepherd slept in Alice Park, Bath, from 7.30pm on Friday to 7.30am on Saturday.
Despite being soaked through, the rough sleepers were glad they did it as they were thrilled with how much they raised for the homeless charity.
“It really hits home how difficult it must be to sleep on the streets every night and how fortunate we all are,” said Mr Sargeant.
“To raise this much money for a brilliant cause is something we are chuffed to bits with and the money is still trickling in. We got soaked but it was worth it.
“This is a great way to raise awareness of this issue. We want to thank everyone for their wonderful support.”
