TEENAGE entrepreneur Mila Stanzani cannot believe that she is setting up an online rucksacks business this week after having no idea what career she would do two years ago.

After leaving John of Gaunt School in the summer of 2016, the 18-year-old was uncertain about what job was for her but fast forward to today and she is on the cusp of launching her business, Arma-Mi.

Mila, of Southview Park, says she had a eureka moment when her mother Sarah was driving her home one day.

Since then she, her mother and dad Francesco have been kept busy over talking to experts to choose on a website, a logo, its design and prototypes of the armadillo themed rucksacks.

“This is incredibly exciting but also scary for me,” said Mila.

“When we got the design back I thought the rucksack, something I love, was shaped like an armadillo so I shortened that and my name to make Arma-Mi.

“We have a youtube channel, a Facebook and Twitter page and we are setting up the website this week. We have 200 bags in my house at the moment in all sorts of different designs, they look great.”

This is a far cry from where she was after leaving the Trowbridge school. Some of the jobs she took on included doing business admin at River Mead School in Melksham, working at an ice skating rink and doing a stint in travel and tourism.

“I did all sorts of jobs after school and I did not want to get into any of them,” she said.

“I remember in 2016 and this idea just came to me. My parents have been so supportive and helpful to me.

“It is so strange that I was in that position then and in not that long I have come a long way.

“I am so pleased with the final product and I hope it will be successful. Most people my age go to college or university so I am very happy with how things have turned out.”
