YOUNG entrepreneurs revelled in being given a chance to showcase their work at a free business market by the big Tesco in Trowbridge on Saturday.

Hundreds had a chance to look at the work of the youngsters who showcased 13 stalls comprising jewellery, crochet designs, stationary, cosmetics, accessories, homeware and much more.

This is the fifth time organisers GoFish, an initiative that helps young local people find work, have put on the event and the campaign’s young ambassador, Nicola Davis, said it was the most successful one to date.

“I would say it was a huge success. The feedback we received was great. It was lovely to see a lot of young people excited about selling their creations,” said Miss Davis, who was selling her, My Super Sweet Recovery Cookbook, at a stall of her own.

“The age range was from 10 to 30. This is a great way to start off your idea and maybe these people will have a successful business of their own in the future.

“This is the first time I have been involved with GoFish at this market but in the four years that I have been part of this it certainly helped me.”

St Laurence School pupil, Amelia Harvey, was really happy to be part of the event, where she sold prints of her drawings.

“It was good to be part of this. Nicola contacted me as I have some of my drawings in the Made in Bradford shop,” said the 17-year-old.

Fitzmaurice School pupil, Charlotte Hill, 10, was selling her latex moulded bee wax candles.

“Her granddad is a bee keeper so she uses the spare wax to make candles and soaps in the garden shed,” said her mother, Anna.

“She really enjoyed going down there and selling her work. She has done craft stalls before. This is something she has a real talent for.”
